About This Project

In an area formerly used for gravel extraction, Anton Lakes Nature Reserve was designated in 1996. It’s a varied site including the River Anton flowing through old watercress beds, lakes and chalk grassland. You’ll find numerous birds including the great crested grebe, various butterfly species, and even otters and water voles.

The site is managed by the Environment Agency, Hampshire & Wildlife Trust and Hampshire County Council. Here’s another amazing place where we have been privileged to work. A brand-new forest of over half a million trees, pockets of ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows and wildlife in abundance.

We are not the first to enjoy this special place, the Romans built a road called the Portway across the site between Silchester and Old Sarum, and before that, Bronze Age people left a hoard of swords and spearheads.

The Landmark team has been glad to work with Test Valley Borough Council, and a recent project was these large timber entrance signs, based on the Brecon ladder signs from our County range. High-quality infilled engraving and concealed face fixings added the finishing touch to these very attractive units.
