When you’re next in Somerset, make sure you visit Dunster Castle. This dramatically sited fortified country house is situated on a wooded hill called the Tor, with a building has existed here since the 11th century.

Landmark’s involvement has only occurred after the first thousand years or so, but we have been very privileged to supply signage for this wonderful place. Attractions include the original 13th-century gates, gardens with four different microclimates, one 17th-century carved staircase, a working watermill and, of course, the amazing views over Exmoor and the Bristol Channel.

Recycled plastic signage has proved ideal, being discreet, long-lasting and waterproof. It is especially effective in heavily shaded or damp areas where timber could be prone to rotting. The engraved and painted text contrasts very well and is a low-maintenance, cost-effective solution for the National Trust.
